The mountain cast a sullen shade
Across the landscape’s barren grace
A careless gloom’s forgotten blade’s
been laid atop the vacant waste

Messiah I’ve been dubbed by thee
In ruined realm a promised duke
Of sacred birth ‘tween godless priests
My silent psalms of no rebuke

Bleak scenery shall flourish, bloom
Grow blossoms, thorns, through prophecy
The vision roots in poisoned womb
Whose spawn will be a prodigy

My wounded heart shall cry the tears
Of bitter-sweet melancholy
For wielders of the sacred gear
Are kings of all calamity
